2025 Bamboo Lake Bike Rentals

Yangming mountain Bamboo Lake Travel Guide

Nestled in Beitou District of Taipei, Bamboo Lake (Zhuzihu) was formed by volcanic activity that created a barrier lake thousands of years ago. Now a premier flower-viewing destination just 40 minutes from downtown, this 650-meter-high misty valley thrives with unique floral landscapes.

From March to May, the Calla Lily Season transforms wetlands into fields of white blooms. Visitors can borrow rain boots to pick fresh lilies (NT$10 per stem) while walking through dewy fields. The magic continues from late May to July during Hydrangea Season, where volcanic soil acidity produces gradient blue-purple blossoms. The show-stopping "Endless Summer" variety, with flower heads reaching 25cm wide, is a photographer’s favorite.

Take the MRT to Shipai Station(石牌站)and transfer to the Small 8 Bus(小 8 for direct access. Drivers should note weekend traffic controls (8 AM-6 PM) during peak seasons. Most farms charge a NT$100 entrance fee (redeemable for refreshments).
